Born December 5, 1981, in Thibodaux, LA, Tommy was the oldest of three children born to Thomas “Ted” Francis and Jane Cliffgard Francis Cross. His early years took him from Louisiana to Nashville, TN, and then to Charlotte, NC, where he spent much of his youth. As an adult, he lived in Atlanta before ultimately making his home in New Orleans, where he built his life and business.
Tommy was a steady, quiet leader—protective of the underdog and always willing to step forward when others stepped back. Soft-spoken with a big heart, he was endlessly curious, creative, and kind. He never met a stranger, and friendships easily spanned decades. A loyal New Orleans Saints fan and a lover of music, occasionally DJing for the pure joy of sharing it.
Above all, Tommy was a devoted father to Aubrey Mann and Oliver Francis, his greatest pride and priority. He was their steady place to land, bringing strength, laughter, and love to everyday moments.
Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Thomas “Ted” Francis (2002).
He is survived by his children; his mother, Jane Francis Cross; his stepfather, Claude Cross; his brother, Joseph Francis of Charleston; his sister, Samantha Francis of Charlotte; and extended members of the Cliffgard and Francis/Ramsden families.
