Born on June 29, 1934 in May Pen, Jamaica, she was the daughter of the late Charles Wilson and Daisy Walsh. After graduating from high school, she followed her natural love of helping people, and attended nursing school in England. She graduated at the top of her class as a Registered Nurse (RN), before returning to Jamaica, where she met and married her beloved husband, Russell Malcolm. In 1976, she relocated to the United States with her family.
Teddy was a strong Christian and lived her life as such. She was full of grace, and a true lady. Without exception, anyone that knew her, experienced the unconditional love that she exuded.
The absolute delight of her life was her family. She adored her husband, whom she married on January 13, 1962. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. Like her husband, she found true joy in spending time in her garden, raising orchids and just being outside and soaking up nature. She truly enjoyed the simple things in life, caring for her family, her patients (when she practiced nursing), reading, listening to music and making a positive impact with anyone she met.
Teddy is survived by her son, Kevin, her daughter-in-law, Cheryl, her grandchildren, Tasia and Dmitri, her two great-granddaughters, Milana and Alani, and her brother, Charles Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, sisters, Sonia Roach, Marina Payne and her brother Derrick Wilson.
A private family service to celebrate Teddy’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024 at McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd, Charlotte, NC.
