Timothy Gantt Butts

Timothy Gantt Butts, born on November 24th, 1954, in Delaware, Ohio, passed away on June 21, 2023, in Charlotte, NC from health complications. Tim was predeceased by his sister, Lu Anne Owens and is survived by brother, Michael Butts, sister, Laura Alexander and her husband, Alex. Nieces and nephews were all important to Tim, and include Niki and Sarah Alexander, as well as Jimmy and Adam Butts and Danielle Lukens. Stepmother, Jenny Butts was an important part of Tim’s life, not just in her cooking, but her encouragement.

Tim was a man of deep faith and shared it whenever possible. It sustained him throughout his life and was a source of his humility, gratitude, and hope.

Tim graduated from Dublin High School where he had earned a reputation as an excellent pitcher. He took those skills and coached others to love the game of softball, especially his sisters. Tim was also an accomplished carpenter who had the highest of standards and could always figure out the most complicated of finish carpentry challenges. Tim loved hunting, especially when accompanied by his father, brother, and many friends. Other favorite memories included fishing on Martha’s Vineyard with his beloved dog, Sable and snowmobiling in Maine with his brother-in-law, Alex. Tim also loved animals and developed quite a reputation with Sable and his cat, Marty.

Tim also enjoyed the hobby of flying, and did quite a bit of it over Delaware County as well as Martha’s Vineyard. Tim was charismatic and had a strong loyalty streak toward his friends and family. He will be forever missed by so many.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 1st at 3:00 pm at Oller Cemetery, Concord Township, Delaware County, Ohio.
