Born July 7, 1946 in Baltimore, MD, Tim was the third child of Joseph Yalich and Mary Martin. Following his graduation from Greensburg Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA, Tim enlisted in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge from the Army in 1971, Tim enrolled in Vaal Triangle Technikon where he leaned many of the drafting skills that would serve him in his career as a custom kitchen and bathroom remodeler. Tim was the owner/operator of Cabinets by Design on Selwyn Avenue in Charlotte, NC and remodeled many homes in the Ballantyne and Myers Park neighborhoods.
Tim delighted in family life. He married the love of his life, Shelia Petrulli, on August 28, 1989. He was also a devoted father and adoring grandfather who could fix anything, whether it was a broken toy or a broken heart. An avid fisherman, Tim’s idea of a perfect day was spending the morning with his fishing rod and reel in hand followed by a nap at home in his favorite chair, in the company of his four-legged best friends.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sheila Petrulli Yalich and four sons, Daniel Glunt of Pittsburgh, Peter Glunt of Charlotte, Gregory Glunt of Fairfax, VA, and Matthew Glunt of Fort Mill, SC, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren as well as his siblings George Yalich and Bernadette Bertsch.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Mary Wetmore.
A service to celebrate Tim’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at McEwen Funeral Service – Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC The family will receive friends following the service.
