Tommy was born on April 23, 1965, in Rome, New York, where he spent his formative years and attended John F. Kennedy High School in Utica, New York. He was always proud of his hometown and of the love and support it gave him. He later moved to South Florida, where he met his wife, Annie, and started a family.
Tommy had a lifelong passion for music. In what many described as a true Cinderella story, his talent and dedication eventually led him to join the legendary rock band Boston.
What began as a fan’s tribute grew into an incredible opportunity to share the stage with one of the most iconic bands in rock history. Through his time performing with Boston, Tommy fulfilled a dream and left his own mark on the music industry, inspiring fans around the world with his voice and love for music.
More than anything, Tommy was a devoted family man. He loved spending time with his wife and children—taking them on family trips, performing alongside his son Tommy Jr. in their band DECARLO, and going to lunch at his favorite spot, McAlister’s Deli.
Everyone in town recognized them as the family of four who went everywhere together.
He was always there to offer his love, support, and guidance to his family. They could always count on him to make them feel cherished and to put a smile on their faces.
In his free time, Tommy enjoyed singing, songwriting, playing the keyboard, and talking about and playing sports, including baseball, basketball, football, and golf. He also loved photography and editing photos, enjoying the opportunity to capture the beauty of the world around him. Tommy volunteered many times, performing for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital—a cause that was very close to his heart.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Annie; his children, Talia and Tommy Jr.; his son-in-law, Craig Sr.; his grandchildren, Eli, Pheonix, Craig “Joe” Jr., Noah, and Ashlee, whom he loved and cherished.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Evelyn; his father, Cosmo; his brother, Mike; and his grandparents, Jeanette and Phil Gizzo.
Everyone who met Tommy was touched by him. His memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved him, and his voice, kindness, and legacy in both music and family will never be forgotten.
