

Trudi’s courage, faith, and joy in the midst of this horrible disease were an inspiration to everyone with whom she came in contact.
She was born on April 24, 1964, in Sylva, NC, the daughter of Ray Ferguson and the late Barbara Jean Parker Ferguson.
Trudi attended Sylva-Webster High School and graduated from Western Carolina University with a marketing degree. She belonged to Phi Mu Sorority.
Throughout her accomplished career Trudi oversaw and managed employee training programs for such distinguished companies as Piedmont Airlines, First Union National Bank, Lance, Inc., Stabilus, Westinghouse, Inc., and most recently Ingersoll-Rand.
Trudi and her family were very active members of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.
Trudi was married to Brian Lamond on Dec. 10, 1994, at the Cherokee Baptist Church in Cherokee, NC.
Trudi is survived by her loving husband, Brian, and their two daughters, Lilli and Ella, Charlotte; her father, Ray Ferguson, Cherokee, NC; her sister and brother-in-law, Teri and Scott Barber, of Memphis, TN; her nephew, Ryan Ferguson; her niece, Avery Barber; her maternal aunt, Judy Parker McDowell and husband Steve; her paternal aunt, Vivadeanne Ferguson Kinsland; and her paternal uncles, David, Freddie, and Donald Ferguson.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church Worship Center, 13110 Moss Road, in Charlotte. Reverend Talbot Davis and Dennis Sult will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tommy Anderson, Brian Ewert, Ward Norris, Tommy Morrison, Jeff LeNeave, and Morgan Temple. Following her service, a time of fellowship and refreshments will be held in the church Kids Zone.
There will be a closed-casket visitation on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, from 2-3 p.m. at the Shoal Creek Baptist Church, 184 Shoal Creek Church Loop, Whittier, NC, followed by her funeral service at 3 p.m. Reverend Steve Jamison will officiate. Pallbearers will be Eric Hooper, Matt Ferguson, Greg Gilleland, Eliott Hooper, Randy Kinsland, and Wes Westmoreland.
Following Trudi’s church service, committal services will be held in the Sherrill Cemetery, Old Mission Road, Whittier, NC. A reception will follow in the church community center.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Trudi’s memory may be made to a scholarship fund for her daughters in care of their father, Brian Lamond, or to the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.
