Van Adrian Walters, 80, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Thursday, the 27th of July, 2023 peacefully in his home surrounded by family. He was an avid sports lover and coached many youths in baseball and football over the years. Van loved to spend time with family and friends. He was a mentor for many across his life and was beloved by everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn Walters; his sons, Doug and David Walters; his daughter, Robin Walters; his son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Danny Gallegos and Lori Walters; grandchildren Jacob Walters and wife Karey McGlothin, Kaylin Scacchetti and her husband, Nick, granddaughters, Jaden and Kingston Zdenek, and three great-grandchildren (Jaxon, Finley, and Knoxley Walters).
The Walters family will greet friends Saturday, the 5th of August, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Mountain Island Church of Christ, 4205 Mt Holly-Huntersville Church of Christ, Charlotte, NC 28216. The Funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM. A committal service will be Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208.
