Vera D Buff

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, David Theodore Berg. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 14 years, J. Vance Buff.

Vera loved to be active and busy whether at work or at home. She worked as the Manager of the Frederickson Employees Credit Union for many years. She loved gardening and mowing her lawn. She spent many hours in her vegetable garden and enjoying the fruits of her labor. She wasn’t a big fan of cooking, but that didn’t stop her from cooking daily meals including the Sunday roast that always had to be well done. She loved working jigsaw puzzles.

Family was a very important part of her life, and she spent significant time with her sisters and brothers and their families, playing Rook and having monthly cake and homemade ice cream get-togethers to celebrate birthdays. She enjoyed summer vacations with her extended family in the North Myrtle Beach area.

Vera loved the Lord and faithfully attended Central Church of God.

Vera had four children, Stanley D. Berg of Toccoa GA, Donald L. Berg of Holly Springs NC, Ronald T. Berg of Ft. Mill SC and Cheryl B. Hawes of Milton GA, and 4 step children, Jewell L. Johnson of Irmo SC, Wheeler V. Buff of Lexington SC, William L. Buff of Hickory NC, Betty E. Hodnett of Danville VA; her sister Ruth Bailey of Lancaster SC, her brother Johnny Dickson of Huntersville NC, 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
