Roger and Lessie, I was so sorry to hear about your mother.  She was a very special person who always cared for others more than herself.  I know she will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with you, and on this Thanksgiving I am blessed to have had the pleasure of knowing this sweet lady, and grateful that she is at peace with her Bill...My fondest memory is when we decorated Mulate's for Marshall Sehorn's 65th special NOLA celebration...forever etched in my heart.....with heartfelt sympathy,

Rest in peace, Aunt Verona. I am sure my Daddy was waiting to welcome you into Heaven.

Our prayers are with the Branch Family. Mrs. Verona (and W.D.) loved their boys and by extension, the other boys that came  into their life as a result of the music. She was good to all of us and cared for us, making the band members welcome in her home. I am thankful to have had all of the  Branch's as part of my life, Mrs. Verona will be missed. Love to Roger and Lessie.

Verona...I'm going to write this to you because I know you are in heaven and can hear my prayers as I give thanks to God for being able to enjoy so many years so close with you and Bill.  You were more than a neighbor and more than a friend.  You were about as close to a second mother to me as anyone could be.  I have so many fond memories of being at your dinner table with you and Bill sharing laughs and stories and wonderful food... Oh how easy it was for me to smell the aroma of your good cooking wafting through the air and how gracious you always were to set a plate for me.  I had so much fun living next door to you and laughed so happily in your company.  The hardest thing for me to do when leaving Charlotte was to move away from you and Bill because you were my very best friends and I adored the both of you so very much.  I have missed you over the years we've been apart but you have always remained close in my heart.  It grieves me now that I was unable to give comfort to you on the day of your passing and saddens me that I am halfway around the world on the day of your funeral.  You will forever be in my heart and I will never, ever forget what a wonderful, gracious, feisty, funny and loving person you were.  You were truly the best.  You came into my life just shortly after I had lost my own parents... and I've always believed it was a "God thing" that it happened that way. I thank your loving children for sharing you and Bill so generously with me and for including me on so many family functions.  I know you will be seated at the Lord's table.  I pray that Bill won't volunteer your amazing cooking skills to feed all the other wonderful souls who are there to greet you.  What a lucky person I am to have known you. I will never ever forget you. I love you and will see you again when it is my turn to go to the other side.  Rest in Peace my very special and wonderful friend.
