

Vickie Spivey Saxon, 80, of Charlotte, NC went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Born January 1, 1945 in Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of Robert and Clara (Null) Spivey. She lived in Charlotte her entire life.
Vickies parents owned and operated "Bob's Restaurant" in Charlotte. While working at the family restaurant she met her one and only, Wayne Saxon. They were married for more than 62 years and had three children.
Vickie worked at Shoney's and Howard Johnson's. She later became a stay at home mom, taking care of her children and all of the neighborhood kids. She would never turn a child away.
She was involved with all the activities that her children participated in. Vickie was a Girl Scout leader and worked the ballfield concession stand during baseball season.
During the summers on Thursday nights, Vickie would load her station wagon with as many kids at it would hold and take them all to the Viking Drive-In.
Vickie really looked forward to the yearly trip to Ryan's Cottage in Windy Hill with the whole family. She loved the beach. For many years Vickie and Wayne would take the kids and go camping at the beach, mountains and Lake Norman.
She loved gardening, swimming, fishing and spending time on the beach. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. They all loved their "Maw Maw."
Vickie is survived by her three children, Tina (Mike) Ficco, Robby (Debbie) Saxon and Donna (Tony) Capote; six grandchildren, Chris (Karin) Lamperski, Cameron Saxon, Robbie Saxon, Sarah (Andrew) Ficco Torres, Michael (Summer) Ficco and Tony Capote; three great-grandchildren, Jonah Lamperski, Wyatt Lamperski and Abigail Saxon; siblings, Bobby (Patsy) Spivey, Karen (Jimmy) Kuydendall and David Spivey; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Saxon and her parents, Robert and Clara Spivey.
A visitation for Vickie will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 1:00 PM until the time of his funeral service at 2:00 PM in the chapel of McEwen Funerals & Cremations at Forest Lawn West, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC.
