

Victor Daniel Villavicencio, 79, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Atrium Health Pineville, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Born on July 21, 1946, in Ecuador, he was the son of Victor Villavicencio and Maria Julia Orellana.
Victor proudly served in the Ecuadorian Army and was a professional soccer player before venturing into his own cab and school bus companies and eventually settling into a career as a beloved bus driver. He retired from Liberty Lines after more than 25 years of dedicated service.
Victor enjoyed collecting and working on cars, fishing, and watching soccer games. He was well known for his rigorous work ethic, good-natured humor, and tremendous love for his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Alma Ivette Villavicencio; son, Edwin “Tito” Flores of Charlotte; grandchildren, Matthew and Mason Flores; siblings, Lucia Villavicencio of Ecuador, Yolando Villavicencio of Charlotte, Jacinto Villavicencio (Sophie) of Charlotte, Blanca Alcivar (Ruben) of Charlotte, Julio Armando Villavicencio (Olga Fabiola) of Charlotte, Washington “Pancho” Manzo of Ecuador, Virginia “Vilma” Manzo of Miami; and nineteen nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved daughter, Alma Maria Villavicencio.
Family will greet friends at Duchynski-Cherko Funeral Home in Yonkers, New York, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2026, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m on Friday, May 29, 2026, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Yonkers, NY. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.
