

Vince Jackson, 85, of Charlotte, NC, died on June 7, 2012. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA and then moved to Binghamton, NY where he attended Binghamton Senior High. He was an all-star halfback on the football team. After graduating, he entered the United States Navy and served during the final year of WWII. After the war he attended Colgate University and Harper College, now the University of Binghamton. He played football at Colgate and three sports at Harper.
After college, he went to work for IBM at their Endicott, NY plant. He worked for IBM for 39 years, holding various positions in engineering change analysis and as a parts manager. He was sent to various plants in the United States, France and Sweden to assist their operations. He was transferred to IBM’s operation in Charlotte, where he retired.
Vince is survived by two brothers, Robert G. Jackson of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Richard G. Jackson of Delano, FL, and six nephews and nieces around Ohio and Florida. He will be buried in Cuyahoga Falls, OH with his mother and father, Vincent G. Jackson, Sr. and Cecelia Jackson of Pittsburgh, Binghamton, and finally, Buffalo, NY.
Funeral services will be private.
