"Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness..." 2 Timothy 4:8
Virginia Hines Haselden, age 90, passed from death to eternal life on March 18, 2012. Virginia was the eldest daughter of Glen Cox Hines and Vollie Alton Hines; she was born on July 8, 1921 in Conway, South Carolina. Virginia was the wife of Joseph Harry Haselden (deceased) for 56 years. The Haselden's resided in their Charlotte, North Carolina home and at Southminster Retirement Community, Charlotte, North Carolina. Virginia moved to her daughter's home in 2009, where she lived until her recent illness.
Virginia left a legacy of a life lived for God's glory. Neither age nor dementia could diminish her memory of and her love of Bible scripture; God's Holy Word was engraved on her heart.
Throughout the trials of a debilitating automobile accident and recovery, and two battles with cancer, Virginia's faith in Christ never faltered. She was not fearful, nor ashamed, to be a witness for Christ. Her personal testimony was known by many people.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
"But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body." Philippians 3:20-21
Surviving Virginia are her daughter, Janet Haselden Batrouny; grandsons, Jeffrey George Doggett and Gerar Henri Batrouny; and Jeff's fiancée, Katherine Henes Hembree, all of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Also surviving are her sister, Iva Dean Pollock, and brother, James E. Hines, both of Charleston, South Carolina, and their children and grandchildren.
