Virginia B. Porter, 93, of Charlotte, passed away Wednesday July 8, 2015 at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center. She was born in Lancaster, SC on November 14, 1921 to the late James Oscar Barton and Pearl Mae Ghent.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her children Sandra Lee Frazier of Old Town, FL, Toby Sue Beemer of Charlotte, NC, Joy Diane Edwards of Charlotte, NC and Clyde David Porter of Kannapolis, NC; brother James O. Barton; sister Edith Kiser; 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Junior Porter and her granddaughter Natalie Jane Chandler.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte with a graveside funeral service to follow at 2:15 PM in Sharon Memorial Park.
