hospice in-home care. She was a Charlotte native, born April 21, 1935. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Harris Cohen.
She is survived by her daughter, Renee Cohen; her son Brett and daughter-in-law Amanda
Cohen; and her grandchildren Harrison Cohen and Lizzie Cohen. She is also survived by
numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
Wanda's love for her family shaped so much of her life. Her devotion to her faith, her church, and her loved ones is what she wanted to be known for. Wanda's interests grew from her family's passions, turning basketball and football into more than just games, but shared experiences that connected her to her grandchildren. The tradition of summer vacations was something her children cherished, filled with laughter and memories that stayed with them throughout their lives. And her dedication to researching medical concerns, despite not having formal training, shows a profound commitment to ensuring the well-being of her family. She was clearly a source of wisdom, encouragement, and love.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Mrs. Rita Lynch, and Mrs. Mavis Joseph, for
their devotion to her well-being, and the love they brought to her home. To Cassandra
Matheny and her family for their love and support of her and her grand-dog, Scarlett. To the
compassionate nurses of Via Hospice, who were always ready to assist in Mom’s comfort
and care; thank you for all you do. Thank you to Mom’s Sardis Baptist Church family and to
Pastor Kenn Huck. She rarely missed a Sunday attendance via livestream. We are eternally
grateful to our friends and family who we love very much.
