Wayne Kay Hanni, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, at his home in Pineville, N.C. He was born Oct. 21, 1924, in Rigby to Nephi Henry and Grace Kite Hanni. Wayne served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Winnie Mae Papworth on March 23, 1948. He worked for the Atomic Energy Commission and several INL contractors; he retired from Argonne National Laboratory. Wayne enjoyed family gatherings, golfing, fishing and hunting, traveling and being outdoors. He is survived by his precious wife, Winnie; his daughter, Gwendolyn Odle and her husband Charles of Fort Mill, S.C.; his son, Bruce Hanni and his wife Sue of River Ridge, La.; daughter-in-law, Linda Hanni of Idaho Falls; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Wayne Jr., his parents, a sister and three brothers. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, Wayne requested memorial donations to the donor's favorite charity.
