Mr. Mullis, 70, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Friday, October 12, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Salisbury, NC.
Wayne was born July 4, 1942 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, the thirteenth of seventeen children to the late Watson Hunter Mullis and Bertha Allen Mullis.
The Mullis family will gather to greet friends Tuesday evening, October 16, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon. A service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in the McEwen Sharon Chapel with The Reverend Jerry Divenney officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
Mr. Mullis is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karan Mullis; his son, Jeff Mullis and wife, Julie of Rock Hill, SC; three grandchildren: Amber, Logan and Landis; four brothers: Fred, Don, David and Julius Mullis and two sisters: Pat Pressley and Blandina Sadler.
