

Wendy Brisson Grayson went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 19, 2014. Wendy was born in Charlotte, NC and was the loving, devoted, caring wife and friend of Paul Grayson for 32 years. She was a graduate of Harding High School and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Wendy was a very kind, caring, loving , giving and humorous lady. She was also the strongest and most faithful woman. She was the best wife, daughter, sister, aunt and great aunt. She was a special friend to many and will be greatly missed by all she came in contact with. She loved Carolina Tarheel Basketball (Anything Tarheel), Boston Red Sox Baseball and Carolina Panther Football. She was Paul’s sports girl he always wanted. She was lover of animals, especially cats. She has one surviving cat named Kami who liked to sleep beside, on top of her stomach, on her legs and wrapped around the top of her head. Deceased cats are Samantha, Tom Tom, Button Nose, Hershey, Casey and Blaze. She also was a collector of giraffe figurines. She loved these animals. She loved children, leading her to teach 3rd, 4th and 5th grades in Sunday School at Thomasboro Baptist Church. This was one of the highlights of her life until illness prevented her from this blessing. She always said the children taught her more than she taught them. She is a current member of HollyHunter Baptist Church. Mrs. Grayson was the beloved daughter of Anthony (Red) Brisson (deceased) and Rebecca Spivey Brisson. She was a caring loving sister of brothers, Jack Brisson (Debbie) of Rock Hill, SC, Steve Brisson of Charlotte, NC and sister Barbara (Barbie) Brisson of Charlotte, NC. She also was the caring daughter-in-law to Webster Grayson (deceased) and Joyce Grayson of Bennettsville, SC. She was a caring sister-in-law to Tony Grayson (Kim) of Virginia Beach, Va. and to Ken Grayson (Libby) of Easley, SC. Mrs. Grayson was a wonderful loving and caring Aunt to her nieces and nephews and their families. Wendy’s nieces: Melissa Brisson (Eric), Amy Briggs (Chris) Elisha Brisson Polk (Jason), Amber Grayson, Laura Grayson, Kathleen Grayson, and Brooke Grayson. Wendy’s nephews: Jonathan Brisson (Lyndsay), James Briggs (Kim), Jeremy Grayson, Eric Grayson and James Grayson. Wendy was a fabulous Great Aunt to her Great nieces and great nephews. She loved being able to say “yes, I am your great aunt Wendy”. Lydia, Henry, and Ann Louise Elbert, Emma Grace and Kaleb Baron, Jordan and Ever Polk, Brittany, Jacob and Jamye Briggs. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 22nd from 10:00-11:00AM with a service to follow at 11:00AM in the Paul Helton Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Reverend Tim Nichols pastor of HollyHunter Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers make memorials to the Metrolina Association for the Blind (MAB) of Charlotte.
