William De Martine

William De Martine, 88, of Charlotte, NC, and a long time resident of Ridgewood, NJ, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020. He was the loving husband of the late Pollyann G. De Martine. He is survived by his sister, Jean Dreisbach of Ramsey, NJ and his two sons, Peter and Mark DeMartine.

William was born on December 12, 1931, in Ramsey, NJ, son of the late Thomas and Minnie De Martine. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University and worked as an executive at American Cyanamid for over 30 years. Bill proudly served his country as a Marine in the Korean War.

The joy of Bill’s life was his family. He raised three boys: Peter DeMartine (Stephanie) of Charlotte, NC; Mark DeMartine (Karen) of Mooresville, NC; and the late Scott DeMartine of Seattle, WA. Many of his fondest memories were of summers on Cape Cod on the beach and golf course with his grandchildren.

He is survived by seven grandchildren: Bill, Andrew, Caitlin, Sarah, Hayley, Brendan and Austin, and six great-grandchildren: Hanna, Edward, Abigail, Daniel, Molly, and Katie. He also had a special place in his heart for his Irish Setters and especially Bailey.

Private interment will take place at the Brick Church Cemetery in Spring Valley, NY.
