

Wayne Forbis, 77, born in Mecklenburg County, NC on February 25, 1937, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, February 18, 2015.
Wayne attended Mecklenburg County Schools, graduating from East Mecklenburg High School in 1955. He served with the U.S. Army in Germany. In 1972, he and his friend and partner, David Trull, established Custom Corrugated Containers, Inc. Wayne retired in 2000.
Wayne enjoyed NASCAR events, pulling for the Chevrolet drivers, especially, Jeff Gordon. He loved deep sea fishing for black bass, the Original Charlotte Hornets, Panther football and taking the family Chris Craft to Antique Boat Shows.
In 1959, Wayne married his high school sweetheart, Alice Pearson, and they recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. They loved to travel, visiting all 50 states and many National Parks.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Alice, a son, Dean and his wife, Angie, their children Brenden and Courtney; his daughter-in-law, Violeta and her children, Cynthia and husband, Malcolm Stonehouse, Ari and Blake and two great-grandsons, Theo and Oliver; his sister, Betsy McSwain and her husband Ronald; his brother, Jeff and his wife, Karen; sister-in-law, Linda Berrier and her husband, Steve; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Blake Forbis; son, Daniel Wayne Forbis, great-granddaughters, Adeleen and Laila Forbis, and brother, Donald K. Forbis.
A private family burial is scheduled for 11:00 am, Monday, February 23rd, at Sharon Memorial Park, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm, at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, on Emerywood Dr., (29210), with Rev. Dan Hester officiating. Visitation will he one hour before and after the Memorial Service. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice or the St. Andrews Music Dept.
