The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at McEwen Funerals & Cremations at Forest Lawn West on Monday, the 15th of September, 2025. A service to celebrate his life will follow at 11:00 AM with burial with Military Honors in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
"Bill", as he was affectionately known was born on the 30th of December, 1938 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Perry Anderson Jones and Nellie Knight Jones. He was a United States Army veteran and worked for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System as a maintenance supervisor before his retirement.
His hobbies included fishing, hunter and hanging out at his favorite place, "Chicken King" on Sugar Creek. He loved to talk and never met a stranger.
Bill is survived by his son, Ralf Jones and his wife, Mary; two grandchildren: David Jones and his wife, Anne, Brandy Jones and her husband, Kenny and three great grandchildren: Carlee, Peyten and Kyler; a brother, Perry "Butch" Jones, Jr. and wife, Frances and a sister, Jackie Ramsey and husband, Ronald.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Katharina Jones and a sister, Cornelia Taylor.
