

William Edward Proctor “Ed”, 76, died after a long battle with Alzheimer’s on Thursday, January 25, 2018, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was born on November 29, 1941 in South Carolina to William George Proctor and Edith Blackman Proctor, both deceased.
Ed graduated from Harding High School in 1959. He was selected as a Shrine Bowl player in 1959, and received numerous offers for football scholarships, he attended USC. He worked for Eastern Airlines in the reservation center until retirement. Ed was well-known around the Charlotte area for having his own concession business for over 30 years where he made many friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Edith (Proctor) Campbell and her husband Joseph Campbell of Belmont, North Carolina, and his grandchildren Bethanny, Alex, and Sam Campbell, and extended family. The family would like to thank the staff at Avante for being so kind and treating him with such dignity over the last few years. Visitation will be Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Noon at Forest Lawn West. There will be a celebration of life service at 1:000pm in the Paul L. Helton Chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral Home.
