William Shelton

He was born in Gaston County to the late Nelson and Estie Shipman Shelton. He was a hard worker who spent his working years in Construction and Industrial Insulation. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed nothing more than working outside in his yard and garden. When he wasn’t outside, he enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves, Duke basketball and NASCAR. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, Jean, brothers, Harold, Jack, Ray and Leroy, sisters, Doris Grindstaff and Irene Ottinger. He is survived by daughters Kim (Mark) Gibson of Denver, NC, Jennifer (Terry) Peninger of Stallings, son Eric (Heather) Shelton of Charlotte. Grandchildren, Kelsie Gibson, Alex Peninger, Katelyn Gibson, Chris Shelton and Hannah Peninger. Sister, Marie Lineberger.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Alexis Baptist Church, 118 Alex Church Rd, Alexis, NC. The family will receive friends at 2:00, with a service at 3:00.
