William D. Shuford Sr.

A native of Charlotte, Mr. Shuford was born to the late Mollie Ridenhour Shuford and Charles R. Shuford on September 25, 1920. He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and retired from the automotive and insurance industries. Mr. Shuford was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Childress Shuford in 1969 and by his second wife, Catherine J. Shuford in 2012.

Mr. Shuford is survived by his children, William D. Shuford, Jr. (Cathy) of Charlotte, Sherry Souza (Michael) of Chester, SC; sister, Nellie McKinnon of Concord; grandchildren, David Shuford of Charlotte, Elliott Shuford of Atlanta, Eric Alexander of Long Island, NY, Kate Gafgen of Columbia, SC; great-grandchildren, James and Haley Gafgen.

A graveside service will be held 1:00p.m., Monday, June 6, 2016 in Evergreen Cemetery.
