

Born June 3, 1935 in Lincolnton, she was a daughter of the late William Holbrook and Edna Boyles. Following graduation from Lincolnton High School, Faye attended classes at King's College. She started her career at Panda Curtain Company. She was employed by Nations Ford Elementary for 17 years where she worked in the cafeteria. The last of her working career she worked at Woodlawn Baptist Church daycare. Faye was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, where she sang soprano in the choir and she also served working in the nursery.
The joy of Faye's life was her family. She adored her husband, Johnny, whom she married November 5, 1954. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending her days reading her Bible and completing search word books.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Johnny Brown; two daughters, Kathy Nixon (Bruce) of Concord, NC and Teresa Milton (Robert) of Thayer, MO; and six beloved grandchildren, Jeremy Nixon of Midland, NC, Justin Nixon of Concord, NC, Maria Leary of Concord, NC, Katie Tate of Mooresville, NC, John Michael Stutts of Jacksonville, AR and Mason Goodman of Thayer, MO; six great-granddaughters, with another due in April 2024, and four great-grandsons. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Jane Brown, and three sisters, Lucy Parker, Eleanor Nicholson, and Lorene Potter, as well as one brother, Jason Holbrook.
A service to celebrate Faye's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., with visitation at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 4622 Nations Crossing Rd., Charlotte, NC 28217.
