Wilma Louise Walker Stevens

Wilma Louise Walker Stevens, 94, passed away on October 18, 2011 of natural causes. A lifelong resident of Charlotte, Mrs. Stevens had been living in Carrollton, GA under the care of relatives, loving friends, and caregivers.

Born in Charlotte on December 12, 1916 to the late Roy Lee Walker and Georgia Fisher Walker, she graduated from Charlotte’s Central High School and later retired from Sears after 35 years of service. She was also a member of Mulberry Presbyterian Church. Wilma is survived by her sons, Richard Walter Stevens of North Myrtle Beach, SC and John Wayne Stevens of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. Besides her mother and father, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Roy Lee Walker, Jr.

The family will receive friends at Forest Lawn West Funeral Service, 4601 Freedom Dr., Charlotte, NC beginning at 1:00 PM on Saturday November 5, 2011. A graveside service will follow with Pastor Doug Agnew officiating.
