Wynona Newton Ward

Wynona “Chrys” Newton Ward, age 72, on August 29, 2012 went to live in a place prepared for her in her Fathers House. A resident of Charlotte, she was born in Marlboro County, S. C., daughter of the late Raleigh Robert and Frances Chrystal Odom Newton. A private Memorial Service for the family will be at a later date.

Mrs. Ward attended Central Church of God, retired from Ward Technical Sales Co., Inc., was a substitute teacher in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, was a graduate of McColl High School in McColl, S. C., attended Wingate College, and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a kind person who loved Jesus, her family and cats and was much loved in return.

Surviving are sons, Ronald C. Ward (Donna) of Denver, NC and Roger E. Ward (Becky) of Easley, SC, loving companion, Ed Lancey of Charlotte, grandchildren, Derek and Ashley Ward, brothers, David Newton of Florence, SC, Paul Newton of Greenville, SC and Mark Newton of Taylors, SC. She was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby, Travis, and Bubba Newton.
