February 12, 1939 - June 8, 2025
Andy Tesack peacefully transitioned from this life into the next Sunday, June 8, 2025.
Born and raised in Weirton, West Virginia, Andy met the love of his life, Janet, in 1958. He attended West Virginia University, graduating in 1961. Andy and Janet were married in 1963 and began a long, loving journey together that spanned over six decades.
Andy is preceded in death by his father, Andrew Tesack; his mother, Helen Tesack and one brother, Frank Tesack.
Andy began his professional career as a manager with the W.T. Grant Company, serving in various locations throughout Ohio and West Virginia. In 1977, he accepted a management position with People’s Drug Company, a role that eventually brought him and his family to Charlottesville, Virginia. There, he managed the Barracks Road location through its transition to CVS, where he would eventually retire.
A man of many passions, Andy had a lifelong love for airplanes, motorcycles, and muscle cars. As a young man, he found joy in flying with a close friend, performing aerial stunts—including the daring feat of flying under bridges along the Ohio River.
Andy also had a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. He built his dream motorcycle from the frame and engine of a 1956 Harley-Davidson Panhead - The result remains an exquisite, lovingly built, “chromed out” chopper reflecting his skill and dedication.
One of his proudest moments was fulfilling a lifelong dream of owning a Chevrolet Corvette—bringing home his prized 1999 Magnetic Red Metallic model, which he affectionately called his baby.
He was known by all for his love of animals and shared his home with a menagerie of pets over the years, including a groundhog named Bozo, a chipmunk named Skippy, two loyal black Labs, Bear and Shadow, and several beloved cats.
Andy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janet; his daughters, Kathleen (Kathy) Tesack and Christine (Chris) Tesack; and his grandsons, Andrew and Aaron Hoffman. He is also remembered with love by many nieces and nephews, as well as the countless friends he made throughout his life. Above all, Andy was devoted to his family and took immense pride in his work and the life he built. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on June 20th, 2025 at Teague Funeral Service Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Monsignor Timothy Keeney will be officiating.
