April 11, 1935 – August 12, 2026
Ben Franklin Frazier, 91, of Charlottesville Va, recently of Niles Mi., passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026. He was born on April 11, 1935, in Browns Cove, Virginia, to the late George Washington Frazier and Marie Virginia (Wood) Frazier.
On November 1, 1957, Ben married the love of his life, Margaret Aleene (Monger) Frazier, in Crozet, Virginia. Together, they built a life centered around their family and shared many wonderful years together.
Ben will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Margaret; his five sons, Bill Frazier, Mike Frazier, David (Carol) Frazier, Paul (Lisa) Frazier, and George (Angel) Frazier; his two daughters, Cindy (Terry) Boardman and Virginia Frazier; his sixteen grandchildren and his eight great-grandchildren.
Ben was a hardworking Tree man and family man. He established Frazier Tree Service in Charlottesville Va. and ran that company until 1996. He enjoyed climbing trees and serving the Charlottesville/Albemarle county community. Over the years, many of his clients became good friends and his integrity as a businessman was unquestionable. All of his business was done on a handshake and a promise. In 30+ years he never let down his end of a bargain. At various times, he employed all five of his sons and many other people from the community who helped him be successful in serving the local community.
Ben enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially anything that allowed him to be outdoors. He loved hunting, mowing the grass, splitting wood, and staying busy. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Ben was also a faithful member of Lake Road Church of God, where he enjoyed serving and giving of his time. In his quieter moments, he could often be found enjoying a good card game of Set-Back, with family and friends.
For over nineteen years Ben and Margaret opened their home and hearts and cared for forty-seven foster children, sharing with each one an opportunity to be a part of a family and sharing God’s love.
In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his siblings, Mitchel Frazier, Russel Frazier, Leland Frazier, Tommy Frazier, and Virginia Frazier.
Ben will be deeply missed by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His willingness to help others, love for his family, and enjoyment of the outdoors will remain fondly remembered by those he leaves behind.
A time of visitation will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Teague Funeral Home in Charlottesville, Virginia. Funeral services will be held at Lake Road Church of God on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. An interment will follow at Wesley Chapel.
