She was born November 29, 1932, in Albemarle County to the late Lloyd Cephus Collins and Pearl Sprouse Collins.
She is preceded in death by husband Bernard Coulter Farish, Sr., her son Bernard Coulter Farish Jr., her son-in-law Dale H. Kirby, her brother Kenneth Collins and 3 sisters Louise Burton, Ruby Gunter and Faye Brown.
She is survived by 2 sisters. Ida Carver and Ellen Riner. A brother-in-law Archie Farish. 4 daughters, Pamela Sacre (Ronnie) of Orange, Glenda Kirby of Scottsville, Teresa Farish Sacre (David) of Charlottesville, Sonya Weathersbee (Barry) of Scottsville. Daughter-in-law Rebecca Farish of Palmyra, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She held a special connection with many of her nieces and nephews, as well as numerous others she welcomed as her own.
The family extends a special thanks to family, friends and church family and Hospice of the Piedmont for all their love and support during her illness.
A funeral service will be held October 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Teague Funeral Home. Visitation will be held September 30, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. An interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. Following the graveside service, family and friends will gather at Cherry Ave Christian Church.
