Betty Jane Rainey

Betty was born January 13, 1934, in Afton, VA, the daughter of the late George Elliott Gray and Nancy Kornegay Gray.

Betty is survived by her sons, John Rainey of Batesville, VA, Lawrence Rainey (Gayle) of Barboursville, VA, and daughter Tina Rainey of Charlottesville, eight grandchildren Tammy Pierce, John M. Rainey, Mary Heishman, Joey Rainey, Jessica Shifflett, Miki Rainey, Carrie Rainey, and Samantha Rainey. Betty also had 12 great-grandchildren and three special nephews, Tony Graves, Mark Graves, and Jeffery Graves.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Glenn Rainey, daughter-in-law Maria Casas Rainey and Sister Barbara Gray Graves.

Betty was a member of Batesville United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday September 13, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Teague Funeral Service, 2260 Ivy Road Charlottesville, VA 22903. A funeral service will be for Betty on Wednesday September 14, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Teague Funeral Service followed by interment at Rockgate Cemetery in Crozet, VA.
