Billy Wood Fisher Sr.

Billy was born July 28, 1941 to the late Ira and Marie Fisher.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Teresa Via.

Billy is survived by his wife of 64 years Virginia, daughter Janet Shifflett (Wayne), son Billy Wood Fisher Jr. (Tanya), brother David ( Wanda), sister Susan Johnson ( Andy), four grandchildren Meagan Agee, Tiffany Brookins, Tonya Shifflett, and Cliff Roach, and also seven great grandchildren.

Billy worked for Southern Railroad, and then the University of Virginia Transportation Department where he ultimately retired from.

Billy loved the New York Yankee Baseball Team, hunting, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and most of all loved his beer.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday September 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Teague Funeral Service 2260 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, VA 22903, interment will follow the funeral at Holly Memorial Gardens.
