

Sue, native to Illinois, was born on October 20, 1946 to the late James Richard Geilhausen and Mary Katherine Geilhausen. She graduated from University High School in Carbondale, IL in 1964, where she served as homecoming queen, and received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in 1985. She worked for over 20 years in the Office of Gift Planning at the University, ultimately as a Gift Planning Associate.
Sue was an avid gardener, a talented seamstress and lightning-fast typist, and a dedicated recycler. She gave her generous heart to numerous dogs, cats, chickens, fish, frogs, and the odd iguana.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by brother-in-law Charles William Zinn of Herrin, IL, and former husband Roy Wagner of Charlottesville. Sue leaves behind to cherish her memory brother Richard Geilhausen, sister Kathy L. Zinn, her partner of 22 years Richard Lindsay Turner, daughter Erika Susan Wagner, son Jonathan Richard Wagner, and grandson Graham Richard Everett Wagner.
The family thanks Dr. Lee Litvinas and the staff at Martha Jefferson, and Astrid Keizer of Hospice of the Piedmont for providing Sue with excellent care and great comfort in her final days.
A celebration of Sue's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Teague Funeral Service, 2260 Ivy Road Charlottesville, VA 22903. Attendees are encouraged to bring photographs and other memories.
