Carl Gene "Gene" Glass

Carl Eugene “Gene” Glass, 75, of Faber died Sunday August 10, 2014 at his home. Born in Faber, VA on July 9, 1939 he was the last of 19 children born to Edward Clifford and Virginia Elizabeth Via Glass. Mr. Glass was employed with Alberene Soapstone Quarry and was retired after 31 years of service with ConAgra in Crozet. He loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He was a gardener and loved to work with his hands, even building his home himself, brick by brick. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Patricia Davis Glass of Faber; his three daughters Hope Denise Burns of Arrington, Gracie Louise Glass of Faber and her fiancé Mark Allen McCoy, Jenny Elizabeth Glass of Stuarts Draft and her fiancé Jim McCutchan; a son in law Kenneth W. Burns; two granddaughters Samantha Lee-Ann Burns of North Garden and her fiancé Clarence Ross, Gabrielle Rose Burns of Shipman and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday August 13, 2014 in the Teague Chapel with Pastor Pam Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Glass Family Cemetery, Faber, VA. In keeping with Gene’s wishes the family requests that casual attire be worn. The family will receive friends 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday August 12, 2014 at the Teague Funeral Home.
