

Carol Ann Little, 90, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on October 31, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Ralph R. and Bernardine E. Kreuer.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Daniel “Dan” Little; her brother, Ralph Kreuer; and her sister, Mary Jean Lawrence.
Her loving memory will be cherished by her children: Jennifer (Mike) Kuzjak, Martha (Jenner) Johnson, Leland (Beth) Little, and Vernon (Kathleen) Little. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nick (Sophie), Daniel (Mayzie), Stephen (Briana), Matthew, Ella, Ava (Javier), Jenner (Brianna), Emma, Madison, Emily, and Erin; and her great-grandchildren Marlow, Rosie & June, and Sadie & Sara. She is further survived by her sister Kathy (Mike), her devoted friend and caregiver Deborah Graves, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Carol, affectionately known as “Dee” to her grandchildren (their childhood pronunciation of “Grandy”), was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.
She received both her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Education from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Early in her career, Carol taught school in England, France and Germany through the Department of Defense.
Through Dan’s Air Force service, Carol and her family lived in Germany, South Carolina, Iran and twice in Virginia, forming many lifelong international friendships along the way. Wherever she lived, Carol became an active and vibrant member of her community, participating in her church, and volunteering with the Alzheimer’s Association and Meals on Wheels. Many were blessed to experience her remarkable talents for sewing, painting and baking, which she shared lovingly with those around her.
Carol was known for her generous spirit and deeply prayerful life. She loved celebrations of all kinds and was a consummate hostess. She took great joy in creating thoughtful homemade gifts and faithfully remembering birthdays, accomplishments, and the special moments in the lives of those she loved.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 20, 2026, at Precious Blood Catholic Church, 114 E. Edmondson Street, Culpeper, Virginia. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery, 501 East Chandler Ave, Culpeper, Virginia.
