Carolyn was born on October 7, 1953 in Charlottesville, VA to James E. Shiflett and Ellen Morris.
She then succeeded to graduate from Albemarle High school in 1973 where she soon began working for the UVA Health System. After 36 years, she retired to her home nestled at the foot of the Blue Ridge.
Ms. Shiflett loved to work. She took joy in caring for her land and insisted that she could do it as her brother James did. Carolyn loved gardening. Some would say she had quite the green thumb as everything she planted thrived under her tender care. In her downtime she loved to catch up on current events through the paper, take the occasional nap in her favorite recliner, and most importantly she felt whole cooking for the ones she loved. It was definitely her love language. She will be missed for her dishes and kindness throughout the community.
She was truly an angel, through her kind whole heartedness, which truly stood her out from the rest.
Carolyn was an aunt to many who loved and cared for her. Her legacy and memory live on through her niece Amber and nephew Michael. In addition, her great niece Catalina, and great nephew, Sebastian get to enjoy and cherish the memory she left with them on this earth along with her time she spent with her loving sister and best friend, Peggy.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to JC, Dylan, Autumn, Kevin and family. Carolyn was so grateful for their friendship and support over the years. The family greatly appreciates their love and support in their time of need.
