Catherine Ruth Haverkamp

Catherine was born on October 7, 1923 in Syracuse, New York, to the late Joseph and Mary Berger. Catherine spent her time volunteering in different schools and nursing homes. Catherine retired from Albemarle High School where she was the Librarian.

Catherine’s most important role was being a loving wife, mom, and grandma. She always put her family first and above all else.

Catherine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Lewis Haverkamp.

Catherine survived by her 3 children Nancy Harvey (Dennis), Lynn Morris (Jeff), and James Haverkamp; 5 grandchildren Dustin Gardner, Brandon Leathers, Sean Leathers, Trenton Farish, Tucker Morris; and 2 great-grandchildren Connor Leathers and Miah Leathers.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 7-8:30pm, at Teague Funeral Service in Charlottesville. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 2pm, at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville, with Pastor Lindsey Ellis officiating.

The family would like to send out a special thanks to Lee, Edith, Becky, Demetria, Michele, Tamesha, and Phyllis for caring for Mom.
