Catherine Irene Rainey Hudson

Catherine Irene Rainey Hudson, 87, of North Garden, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at a local hospital.

Born June 14, 1931 in Albemarle County, she was the daughter of the late James Russell and Pearl Gibson Rainey and was the wife of the late Samuel Jackson Hudson. In addition, she was preceded in death by her son, Samuel Jackson Hudson, Jr; a grandson, Clay Martin; and two brothers, Archie Dudley Rainey and Preston Rainey.

Mrs. Hudson is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane Hudson and Catherine Martin; a son, Michael Hudson and his wife Lynne; a brother, Russell Lewis Rainey; five grandchildren, Jamie Weathersbee, Jered Gillispie, Samantha Martin, Michael Hudson and Michelle Hudson; and two great grandchildren, Isaac Weathersbee and Tuesday Hudson.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed counted cross stitch and shared her sewing talents with friends and loved ones.

A memorial service will be conducted 11am Monday at Grace Episcopal Church at Redhill with a reception to follow

A Graveside Service will be held 2pm Friday August 3, 2018 at Holly Memorial Gardends

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the North Garden Volunteer Fire Company, 4907 Plank Road, North Garden, VA 22959.
