Obituary of Christine "Tina" Talbott Blackwell
Christine “Tina” Talbott Blackwell, 90, of Charlottesville, VA, passed away on April 10, 2019. Tina was born on January 6, 1929, in Warrenton, Virginia, to the late Richard S. and Ethel Nelson Talbott. She lived with her husband, Dean, in the Rochester NY area for much of their married life and often spent time at their cottage on Keuka Lake. In the early 80s, they retired to Hayesville, NC where they developed the Tusquittee Landing property. Tina was a talented artist and costume designer, who found her passion working with a local theatre group, Licklog Players. She was a favorite of children and adult actors alike. She moved to Charlottesville in April 2018. Tina is described by friends and family as a spunky and independent woman, who was full of life and had a great sense of humor. Tina was an active member of the Christian Science church. In addition to her parents, Tina was preceded in death by husband, Dean Colby Blackwell, daughter, Susan Blackwell Gregory, sister, Anna Lou Talbott White, and brothers, Nelson and David Talbott. Tina is survived by son, David Colby Blackwell (Maureen) of Castleton, VA, grandchildren, Rainey Claire Blackwell-Bullock (Josh), of Charlottesville, VA; Kathyrn Gregory Greer (Andrew), of Kittery ME, Colby S. Blackwell, Major USAF (Sarah), of Dayton, OH, niece, Wendy Talbott Pipkins (Sam) of Dallas TX, and son-in-law, Scott H. Gregory (Peggi) of Kittery Point ME, and three great grandchildren. A celebration of Tina’s life will be held at a later date.
