

Dennis Milton Acree age 78, of Palmyra, Virginia passed away peacefully on July 6th, 2025. Born on March 2nd , 1947 in Newport News, Virginia. Dennis was the perfect example of hard work, dedication and love.
Dennis is preceded in death by his father Charles Hilton Acree and mother Catherine Scott Acree. Three brothers; Charles Samuel Acree, Edward Earl Acree and Donald Ray Acree.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Barabra Jean Acree. His sons; Edward Matthew (Lisa), Anthony Aaron (Laurie), four grandchildren; Christopher (Anna), Nathan, Lindsey, Ashley and three nephews; Scott, Michael and Kenny.
Dennis grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia where he started his working career helping his father in the paint department of the University of Virginia hospital. He then attended barber school where he found enjoyment learning the art and trade of cutting hair. He worked in local barber shops for several years cutting hair and making friends all over town. One of his favorite things to do in his free time was giving haircuts to his closest friends and family. Dennis later worked as a tradesman for local contractors, property management firms, retiring from the University of Virginia after 26 years of dedicated service in the medical center with Facilities Management.
He enjoyed the simpler things in life. Spending time with his family, sitting on his deck watching the squirrels and deer steal all the bird food from his bird feeders, talking to his neighbors, striking up a conversation with someone walking by his driveway or enjoying a cold beer with anyone who would drink one with him. He was a devoted friend, father, husband, brother, uncle and grandfather. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Visitation for friends and family will be Saturday July 26th, 4:00pm – 6:00pm. Memorial service to immediately follow at 6:00pm at Teague Funeral Service Chapel.
