Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1943, Diana spent many of her early years in Moorestown, New Jersey, graduating from Moorestown Friends School. She completed an Associate’s Degree at Southern Seminary Junior College in Virginia and married Douglas Harold Zanzot, a recently commissioned Ensign in the United States Navy in 1964. During their 59-year marriage, Diana and Doug moved homes many times. They settled in Sudbury, Massachusetts for three decades and retired to Charlottesville, Virginia in 2007.
Diana raised three children as a homemaker until joining the workforce as preschool teacher, tincture bottler, box and bow shipper, and doer of other sundry jobs. She and Doug were always active in the church; she volunteered for several roles in furthering the church’s mission including: Sunday School teacher, choir member, prayer shawl knitter, and active participant in various women’s circles and covenant groups. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed needlepoint and knitting. She delighted in having dogs and cats around the home. She and Doug were also active supporters of UVA, frequently attending sporting events and music performances while their health allowed.
