Diane M. Amalfitano, D.O. surrounded by her adoring children, welcomed the loving light of our Lord and Savior on January 25, 2018. She was a devoted family physician who served the northern Virginia community for 30 years.
Diane Marie Amalfitano was born in Philadelphia on November 6, 1955 to the late Louis (osteopathic physician) and Gloria Amalfitano. Raised in Detroit Michigan, she was the eldest of four children. Diane had a passion for people and followed in her father’s footsteps graduating with honors from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1984. Sharing her talent and expertise, Diane worked as a Family Practice Physician in Arlington, Virginia.
The unconditional love of her family was her motivation for her selfless hard work, sacrifice, and dedication throughout her life. She found joy in all that she did. She loved to sing, play guitar, dance, paint, and worship Jesus Christ.
Loving mother of Joseph (husband to Kathleen), Celeste, and Diana. Joyful Grandmother “Nanabelle” of Matthew, Luke, Julia and Anna.
We thank God for the beautiful years we’ve shared with our mother. Diane will continue to guide us and live in our hearts forever.
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. – John 14:1-6
