Doris Evelyn Morris, 69, went to heaven to be with the Lord and husband on September 14, 2016. She was born on June 4, 1947 in Free Union to the late Harry and Virginia “Nanny” Moore. She is preceded in death by her husband Junior Morris of 56 years. She is survived by two daughters, Diane and husband Leon; Janet and “her man” Cleveland; one son, Kevin and his wife Corrie; grandchildren Chevonne Morris and her fiancé Shaman; Patrick Herndon and his wife Renee; Tyler, Emma, Walker, and Calla Morris; great-grandchildren Peyton and Jacob Herndon. She is also survived by a sister Eva Moore; very close in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Doris was a housewife and logger beside her husband for many years. Where ever you saw one the other was close by their side; holding hands, taking rides in the ATV, and dancing. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She taught her daughters how to be strong women, to take care of their families, and to be great cooks. Her son, Kevin, to this day is still “mommas baby”. When she stopped logging she watched her grandchildren. She was known for being kind, strong and having a smile on her face. People always admired her for being the hard worker she was. There was a special bond between her and her baby granddaughter Calla. Junior always said she was an angel sent by God to watch over her grandmother as she struggled with illness. Her strength kept her with her family until the recent passing of her husband, where their love storycontinues in Heaven. God has gained another special angel. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Teague Funeral Home. Special thanks to her daughter Diane for caring for mom and to family, friends, and neighbors for their outpouring of love and support. Condolences may be offered to the family at teaguefuneralhome.com
