Frances Caroline Maynard, 79, of Earlysville, VA, passed away on December 1, 2018.

Fran was born on July 27, 1939, in Omar, WV, to the late Alexander James and Frances Plott White. For over a decade, she was a Cafeteria Manager at Hollymead and Greer Elementary Schools. Following her retirement, she loved nothing more than spending time with her family and helping to raise her grandchildren. They were her world. Fran, also known as "Maw," showed her family how to love each other, and was the ultimate example of family dedication. She was immensely proud of them, and yet remained humble herself. Fran never missed her children or grandchildren's events, including sporting events, concerts, and everything in between. She was a great cook, and loved walking, dancing, and traveling. Fran always had a smile, kind words, and time to give each and every person with whom she interacted. She never met a stranger, and would give the shirt off her back to anyone. Fran will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Fran is survived by her husband, the love of her life, for over 61 years, Darrell Maynard; sons, Gregory Maynard (Kimball), Darren Maynard (Kathy), and Michael Maynard (Meagan); daughter, Katrina Maynard (Stephen Northcott); grandchildren, Brett (Olivia), Drew (Brittany), Nick, Erika, Tessa, Kara, Jake, Chase, Jensen, Logan, Kirsten, Keaton, Kaley, Riley, and Addey; great-grandchildren, Brynn, Reese, Lucius, Ella, and Laine; brother Charles White (Joanne); sister Judy Myers; sisters-in-law, Jean and Jane Maynard; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends George and Pat Walker, and Alice Dunbar.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at 10am, at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Ruckersville. A graveside service will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, from 6-8pm, at Teague Funeral Service in Charlottesville.

Memorial contributions may be made in Fran's memory to Team Fran's Fans, care of the Alzheimer's Association, 355 Rio Road West, Suite 102, Charlottesville, VA 22901.

Darrell,
Please accept my belated condolences to you and family for your loss. I just today became informed of Frances' passing. In reflection of the time all three of us spent together in Logan HS, it seems so long ago but just as real as yesterday. I always enjoyed the LHS reunions when we could make it and reflect a little on past times. As you know, Frances was loved by all her LHS friends and she will be greatly missed by all of us.

Sincerely,
Robert "Bob" Jenkins

Our heartfelt sorrow goes out to you Uncle Daryl and family for the loss of the love of your life, your loving mother, sister, grandmother and my precious Aunt Frances. Across the miles and through the years I looked forward to being able to keep in touch with her and to find out all the adventures, or additions to her family. I will miss the love and support she always gave me with a heart warming greeting connecting me to Family. I am so blessed to have been part of her loving life and I will deeply miss her sweet voice across the miles. I cherish our recent memory together and know how blessed I am to be able to have shared that time with her. I know we will all be with her again in that peaceful place of heaven. Our prayers will be with you all for guidance of strength during this time of sorrow.
With love,
Mickie Lynn
