Gladys Marie Thacker

Gladys was born February 10, 1934 to the late Bernard and Beatrice Thacker.

Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ben W. Thacker, and brothers Wallace and Harold Thacker, Grandson Jeremy.

Gladys is survived by her sons M. Bruce (Margaret), Robert (Barbara), sister Edna Thacker, grandchildren Benjamin (Emily), Ryan (Kate), Jackie, and Jedidiah, great-grandchildren Owen, Theo, Margot Thacker, Brentley Lynch, Alaina Gibson, and Henry Lynch.

Gladys was a housewife for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with family, reading the Bible, western books, going to auctions and estate sales, and being involved in church activities.

There will be a time of visitation for Gladys on Wednesday, July, 8, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Teague Funeral Service 2260 Ivy Road Charlottesville, VA 22903. There will be a graveside service for Gladys at Monticello Memory Gardens 670 Thomas Jefferson Parkway Charlottesville, VA 22902, on Thursday July 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Robert Price presiding.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the North Garden Volunteer Fire Department 4907 Plank Road, North Garden, VA 22959.
