Dr. Crosthwaite passed away on February 22, 2015 at the Martha Jefferson House in Charlottesville. A native of Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Dr. LT and Margaret Crosthwaite. Dr. Crosthwaite was a retired US Air Force Colonel and Professor of Dentistry at the Ohio State University. He was a Bronze Star and Legion of Merit recipient. He attended Fisk University, received his DDS degree from the University of Michigan, and received his Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Texas. Dr. Crosthwaite was also a diplomat and follow of the American College of Prosthodontics. During his retirement Dr. Crosthwaite pursued his passion for amateur radio, reading, classical music, and staying in touch with former colleagues and friends throughout the county. Dr. Crosthwaite is survived by his wife Sarah S. Austin; his daughter, Margaret Kalka; his son, David Crosthwaite; and two grandchildren, Denise Rios and Michael Pascuzzi. A memorial service will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Teague Chapel. A reception will follow at the funeral home.
