Jacqueline Young

Jacqueline Ann Young was born March 20, 1928 to Albert and Thelma Young in Bellevue, Ohio. Jackie was educated in Bellevue City Schools. She attended Miami University at Oxford Ohio for one year. Jackie transferred to Ohio State University. She was a member of Delta Gamma and Rho Chi Honor Society. She graduated with a B.S. in Pharmacy in 1950.

Jackie worked at Lutheran Hospital at Cleveland Ohio from 1950 to 1951. She moved to New York and worked at Cornell from 1951 to 1952. From there, she moved to Charlottesville and worked at the University of Virginia Hospital as a staff pharmacist and as assistant director. She became Director of Pharmacy in 1970 and remained in that position until she retired in 1994.

Jackie was a generous supporter of Virginia Sports Foundation, SPCA, Help in Emergency and other agencies that helped people. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Ohio State University Alumni Association. She was a registered pharmacist in Ohio and Virginia for over 50 years.
