

Manny was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel W. Herring, Jr., and his sister, Patricia A. Herring.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Jenny Herring; his daughter, Dana Hoffman (Geoff) of Palmyra, VA; his son, James Herring (Kim) of Scottsville, VA; his grandchildren, Zachary Hoffman (Channin Ralston), Ian Hoffman, McKenzie Herring (Mikey Brown), Gracyn Herring, and Cooper Herring and his great-granddaughter, Parker Hoffman. He also leaves behind numerous relatives and friends who cherished him.
Manny was an avid outdoorsman who found his greatest joy in fishing, hunting, and being surrounded by nature. He was known for his unwavering honesty—always speaking his truth—and for the steadfastness of his convictions. His dedication to his family was evident in everything he did. Hardworking, loyal, and deeply rooted in the people he loved, Manny touched the lives of many and will be remembered for his grit, strength, and big heart.
A visitation will be held at Teague Funeral Service, located at 2260 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, VA, on November 21, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
