

James "Jimmy" Stevens, 91, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 31, 1934, in Lovingston, Virginia, Jimmy lived a long and fulfilling life dedicated to his family, work, and passions.
Jimmy was the beloved husband of Joanna Stevens, with whom he shared an extraordinary life and would have been married for 68 years on July 26, 2026. Together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. He was a devoted father to his three daughters: Pamela Tingley (Tom), Jennifer Stevens, and Constance Eddins (Russell). Jimmy also took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Benjamin Tingley and Analise Eddins, who brought him great joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Stevens and Mary Elizabeth Honeycutt, as well as his brother David Stevens. Their memory remained close to his heart throughout his life.
For over 38 years, Jimmy worked at Acme Visible Records in Crozet, Virginia. His dedication and strong work ethic were hallmarks of his career. Outside of work, Jimmy found happiness in simple yet meaningful pursuits. He loved tending to his garden, working on his trucks, and tinkering in the garage. These hobbies not only brought him personal satisfaction but also reflected his resourcefulness and hands-on approach to life.
Above all else, Jimmy treasured time spent with his family. Whether gathered for special occasions or enjoying everyday moments together, he found deep fulfillment in the company of those he loved most.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of the Piedmont for their exceptional care and support during Jimmy's final days. Their kindness will always be remembered.
