Janet was a long time resident of Charlottesville, VA, and most recently lived in Virginia Beach, VA, with her daughter for the past year. She grew up in Staunton, VA, and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, attended St. Joseph’s College in Emmitsburg, MD, and received a Secretarial Diploma from Elizabeth Brant School of Business, in Staunton, VA. She served as a Eucharistic Minister for Mass, and was very involved with activities at St. Thomas.
Janet was so special to everyone she met, and radiated your heart with her beautiful smile. Her kindness was a natural part of her positive and cheery personality. She was a wonderful mother who raised her two children with such love and adoration, and had a very full life with many friends, wonderful neighbors, and the many friendships she formed with the navy employees and students at UVA. She was known as ‘Mrs. P’, and she was loved and adored by all she served, including midshipmen, and everyone in the Navy command at UVA. She loved to travel, read, swim, involvement with church, attend local arts events, and spending time with family and friends.
